2004 Grid is the second drawing in the Baseball Project series. In this drawing, a single statistic - Earned Run Average (pitchers) and Batting Average (position players) - drives the piece. Each player is plotted along the grid according to his numbers. The Y axis is 0 through 5.00 (for ERA) or .500 (for BA). The X axis is 1 through 162, representing the regular season games. To distiguish the lines, I've assigned each player a color. The position players are shades of blue and green, and the pitchers are shades of red and orange/yellow. I ranked the players by expected performance at the beginning of the season, and the colors reflect that. Players who are added to the roster as the season progresses are tacked on to the bottom of the list, and assigned a color.
